First Annual “TAO Masquerade Ball” is happening on Friday, June 19th from 8:30 – 11:30 PM at the Taos Art Plaza, 223 Paseo del Pueblo Sur. The purchase of a ticket includes a white mask to create a unique persona by decorating, adorning or styling before attending the ball. In the “Artist Ball” style, we anticipate an exciting charismatic party with live dance music by the “Time Machine”. Tickets can be purchased at the TAO Office, the Taos Art Plaza, Vibrations and the Alley Cantina. Ticket cost: $10 includes a white paper mache’ mask to decorate & $17 at the door – includes a mask of your choice decorated by a local artist. Contact: TAO Office at 575-751-0071.

New TAO merber Mary Lela Gilbert

New TAO member, Mary-Lela Gilbert has several original paintings and prints available, now showing at the Northside Health and Fitness Center, just north of Taos in El Prado. Two examples are Buffy an original oil on a metal round and Kiva Ladder a print of a pastel.

It is a required meeting for our 128 Tour Members to pick up their panels and see the how the display units are going to look and work. It is also the deadline for Sponsors to be listed in our 32 page tour catalogue we have six levels of sponsorship: Sky-$1,000or more (placement on back cover, logo, link on TAO website) Summit-$500, (logo link on TAO website) Mountain-$250 (link on TAO website) Foothills-$150 (Name, name,address, phone number, email address) Mesa-$100 (name, address, phone number River-$50 ( name, address). Sponsor's dollars not only generate their listing in the catalogue and website, but actually will be spent on further advertising to promote the tour and thus further promote the sponsoring business....two forms of advertising for the cost of one!

After months of planning TAO, Taos Artist Organization, is prepared for the future. TAO, was founded by artists for artists to promote our community of visual artists. Our primary goal is the restoration of Taos as a premier international destination for those seeking a vibrant, world class visual arts colony. We create a forum for visual artists and the greater community to work together to inspire and promote one another. We will become an integral part of the internal workings of our community so that all visual artists have a voice. To achieve our directive, we will build the Taos Visual Art Center with exhibition spaces and studios where artists will create two and three dimensional art. The Visual Art Center will be an exciting meeting place for artists to exchange ideas and will uphold the spirit of our artistic environment with changing exhibitions, educational programs, workshops, classes, private sponsorships, professional assistance and many volunteer services.
