I arrived in Alaska in December of 2013, 1 week after the winter solstice, on the Alaska State Ferry. It was dark and rainy evening. The sun slowly returned and with the light, a new beginning.

Master's Class by Michelle Cooke Feb 2nd
Michelle Cooke will be teaching a Master's Class in Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture at the Stables Gallery on February 2, 10 am - 2 pm. The cost is $50. Interested artists can call 776-2114.

MID-WINTER EXHIBITION: The Fenix Gallery, 208 A Ranchitos Road, Taos presents a show in the East Gallery of recent drawings by guest artist, Michelle Cooke. Cooke’s exquisite graphite renderings in the Pear Series, depict unique qualities of the pear, alone or in groups; creating a narrative. In 2008 Cooke will be part of an exhibition at the Fine Arts Museum in Santa Fe, Flux, Reflections on Contemporary Glass. Curator, artist, professor, Cooke plans a gallery discussion Sunday February 10, 4-5PM.The Exhibition will run through March 2.
