Sagefarm Contemporary (104 Dona Luz) will be having an opening reception for encaustic artist Mary Long-Postal on Saturday, July 5th from 5 - 8pm. Mary's work is simultaneously personal and reflective of the human condition.
I arrived in Alaska in December of 2013, 1 week after the winter solstice, on the Alaska State Ferry. It was dark and rainy evening. The sun slowly returned and with the light, a new beginning.

Thanks for the post, Nancy. These are really terrific pieces. I have seven hanging in different sizes and Mary is arriving today with three or four more. Really gorgeous encaustic layering.
