Portraits of the Sacred. This show is by young people for young people. We would love to see your painted, drawn, sculpted, poetic, eclectic answers to the question, What is Sacred to you? Religious or non religious themes, it is more about inspiration than belief.

Hearts and Stars: Miniature Show 2008
to benefit the Taos Coalition to End Homelessness, Inc.

Hearts and Stars: An Exhibition of Miniature Fine Art, a non-juried show welcoming all artists and media, will be held from November 22 – November 25 at Wilder Nightingale Fine Art, 119 Kit Carson Road, Taos, New Mexico 87571.

Maximum image size for all framed works is eight inches by ten inches (8”x10”) or 80 square inches. All works must be available for sale. Artists may submit up to two pieces for inclusion. Participating artists will receive 40% of the sale price for their work, with 10% of the proceeds going to defray costs of the exhibit and 50% going to the Taos Coalition to End Homelessness, Incorporated.

All work must be delivered to Wilder Nightingale Fine Art before November 20th between the hours of 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. Unsold work must be picked up on or after November 26th. Work will be displayed on the premises of Wilder Nightingale Fine Art during regular business hours from November 21st to the 25th and at the Reception on November 22 between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 pm. All artwork must be wired and ready to hang.

Call to Artist: Landscape

4Culture is seeking to acquire wall-mounted landscape works that use color (paintings, prints, photographs, drawings, etc.) for the Harborview Medical Center Collection, part of the King County Public Art Collection. The subject matter for this call must be the essence of landscape, whether represented realistically or abstractly. These works will be on display throughout the public spaces of the new Norm Maleng Building, a multi-story facility that houses operating rooms, acute care, rehabilitation, and clinic facilities, along with their associated waiting areas. Biennial Southwest '08 presents the best in contemporary art from Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. This year BSW '08 will present $10,500 in awards, including $5,000 for Best in Show. Juror for BSW '08 will be Dr. Stephanie Hanor, Senior Curator and Department Head for the Museum of Contemporary Art/San Diego. Call to Artist: "Gallery on the Green"

Color It Green, the next exhibit at the Taos Country Club’s "Gallery on the Green". As spring appears in all its light shades of green and moves into the deeper greens of summer there will be a juried exhibit starting April 2, 2008. Everything imaginable from green fruits and vegetables to green rooftop gardens to green rain forests, to green oceans, to green humvees or green camouflage, army green to greenhouse gases or the work of organizations such as Green Peace or Sustain Taos. Work will be accepted for consideration on April 2nd from 4-6 and will be juried that evening. Any medium is welcome and there is no limit to size, bigger is better. There will be a reception on Friday, April 4th from 6:00 – 8:00. Each artist whose work is juried into the show will pay $10 for the appetizers at the reception. If a piece sells, the artist gets 100% of the sale.
