I arrived in Alaska in December of 2013, 1 week after the winter solstice, on the Alaska State Ferry. It was dark and rainy evening. The sun slowly returned and with the light, a new beginning.

Oh my gosh, it was a zoo at the country club this afternoon. I was there around five and was the seventy-fifth registered piece. They had WAY more response than anticipated and were constantly running out of forms and such. Apparently everybody gets in as everyone was required to pay the ten dollars. The exhibition room was PACKED with art - it will be interesting to see if indeed it all stays there through August!
